Round 1 at Alaqua Country Club | Shaking Off the Rust for 2026

Round 1 at the Alaqua Country Club for the NXXT Tour event didn’t exactly go how I would’ve drawn it up.
I shot 3 over and didn’t really have my best game out there. It felt like one of those rounds where things just weren’t quite clicking yet — which, honestly, can happen early in a season.
I’m still shaking off the rust and settling back into tournament mode for 2026, and I’m actually excited about the process of getting there.
There were definitely some moments that felt a little ridiculous. The round stretched close to six hours, which is never easy to manage mentally, and a couple three-putts didn’t help the momentum. But that’s golf. Some days test your patience more than your swing.
The important thing is I’m still in it, still learning, and still moving forward. Early-season rounds aren’t always about perfection — sometimes they’re about getting reps under pressure and finding your rhythm again.
Day one is behind me.
Now it’s time to reset and go compete.
