How many times has Gabby Golfs been to Q-school?
Someone recently asked me a really good question…
"How many times have you been to Q School?"
And the answer is… pretty much every year since I started my professional golf journey.
But here's something I think a lot of people outside of professional golf don't realize.
Unless you're one of the top players who has secured their LPGA Tour status, there's a good chance you'll find yourself back at Q School every single year.
Whether you're starting at the first stage, exempt into the second stage, or fortunate enough to go straight to the final stage… Q School is a recurring reality for so many professional golfers.
It's not necessarily a one-and-done thing.
You can earn your status one year and find yourself right back fighting for it the next.
That's professional golf.
And I think that's something worth understanding before looking at someone's career and wondering why they haven't "made it" yet.
Because earning your place and keeping your place are two very different things.
But when someone asked me that question, it got me thinking about something much bigger than golf.
Every single time I've gone back to Q School, I've been a different version of myself.
A different mindset. A different chapter of life. A different set of challenges.
And some of those challenges had absolutely nothing to do with golf.
I think sometimes we look at someone's results without realizing everything that person might be carrying when they step onto the course.
And for a long time, I was carrying a lot.
So I decided to sit down and share a side of my professional golf journey that I haven't really talked about.
The good, the bad, the heartbreak, the lessons… and everything in between.
Not to make excuses for the times I haven't advanced, but to share the reality of what chasing a dream can look like when life is happening at the exact same time.
Because this story isn't just about golf.
It's about learning who you are, losing yourself, finding yourself again, and realizing that sometimes the biggest victories in life never show up on a scoreboard.
So… here's the real story behind all those trips to Q School.
