Every season starts somewhere — and this one started with an early alarm and a long drive.

We left Phoenix and headed to Las Vegas as the first stop on the way to St. George, Utah, where my first tournament of the year begins. There’s something grounding about travel days before competition — time to reset, reflect, and settle into tournament mode.

While in Vegas, my caddie and I played TPC Las Vegas — a course that’s been on my bucket list for a long time. Another one officially checked off. The round itself was relaxed and genuinely fun, and the two guys we were paired with made it even better. Easy conversation, great energy, and one of those rounds that reminds you why you love the game.

We stayed at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, which was completely new for me. I’d never stayed there before, but I really enjoyed the experience. It was calm, comfortable, and a perfect place to recharge before getting back on the road.

To end the day, we went to Benihana — another first. Great food, fun atmosphere, and the perfect way to wrap up a long travel day.

Vegas was just the stop along the way to St. George is where the season begins.
