First Time at Torrey Pines South | A 68 I Won’t Forget

I finally got to check off a course that’s been on my list for a long time — Torrey Pines Golf Course – South Course.
I had played the North Course a couple times before — once as a junior and again more recently — but the South Course is its own experience entirely. Standing on those tees, looking down the fairways with the ocean beside you, you understand quickly why it hosts the Farmers Insurance Open every year.
Because we were there only a couple weeks after the tournament, it still had that championship feel. The rough was deep enough to demand your attention, and the greens were rolling incredibly pure. Every shot required commitment, and every putt made you think.
Then came the bonus — I shot 68.
Rounds like that stick with you, not just because of the number but because of where it happened. The challenge, the conditions, and the atmosphere all came together to make it one of those days you remember.
Safe to say… I left loving Torrey South.
