Day 2 in Mesquite was everything these trips are supposed to be.
Rich and I played Casa Blanca Golf Club with Elliot and Lloyd, and the round was filled with laughs from start to finish. Plenty of jokes, plenty of catching up, and one of those days where you’re more focused on who you’re with than what you’re shooting.
The day flowed easily... breakfast to golf, running into familiar faces, and settling into the rhythm that makes these trips feel like tradition. There are two restaurants we go to every single time we’re in Mesquite: the sushi spot and the Mexican place. Sometimes we even go more than once during the trip. They’re just part of the routine now.
One of those favorites is Tai Rai Sushi, which never disappoints and always feels like a non-negotiable stop when we’re in town.
And of course, no Mesquite trip is complete without a little gambling. This time it worked out... I put $20 in and walked away $50 up. Not bad at all.
Days like this are a reminder that golf isn’t always about performance. Sometimes it’s about laughter, connection, and enjoying the moments in between.
Day 2 done right!
